TADAO ANDO

This is a very remarkable Japanese architect. His buildings are very recognizable cause he always works with one measure : The tatami ( judomat). It's a rectangular(90cm by 180cm), in concrete, with 4 or 6 holes in it. If you see a building with this trademark you can be sure that this is a creation of Master-architect TADAO ANDO.He even made a small bird -house with this tatami (see picture above).
He loves to play with glass and light. He likes to combine his buildings with a nice pond, waterparties or plants. It's very basic, but never cold.I was surprised by that when I visited one of his masterpieces in the insel-hombroich foundation(see link nature&art foundation) in Germany. He is very succesfull, especially since he won the pritzker price in 1995.

Hej Jonathan! Wat een prachtig ontwerp! Die eerste paar beelden van die ruimte waar de zon doorkomt en het kruis dat zich daardoor vormt. Prachtig! In zo'n ruimte zou ik elke zondag willen samenkomen!! :-)

Ongelooflijk straf ontwerp van die kerk. Dat kruis grijpt je aan
